• Adjust the valve clearances;
• Replace the spring with its failure;
• To replace the camshaft for wear cams.

With the increased gap between the rod and the valve guide – replacing worn parts.

Reason 4: The crankshaft knocking (engine idle problems)

Engine problems symptoms: too early ignition, insufficient oil pressure lubrication system, the weakening of the flywheel bolts, enlarged the gap between the tails and main bearing inserts, work on the engine oil inconsistent.

Do the following to avoid this engine problems symptoms:

• adjust the setting of the initial ignition timing;
• clean up the oil pressure relief valve from burrs and particles, if necessary, replace the valve or spring;
• repair oil pump;
• abraded crankshaft journals to oversize and replace liners;
• verify and, if necessary, replace the sensor oil pressure indicator (will help in case of engine idle problems);
• replace the oil dripping oil recommended in the manual car.

Reason 5: Increased fuel consumption

The reasons of these engine problems symptoms could be: incomplete opening of the choke, increased resistance to movement of the vehicle, improper installation of the initial ignition timing, faulty vacuum regulator valve plug, high level of fuel in the carburetor (broken seal or needle valve gasket, sticking or friction that prevents normal movement of the float leaks float), clogged air jets carburetor.

Do the following:

• Adjust the air damper actuator;
• Check and adjust tire pressure, brake system;
• Replace vacuum regulator or distributor;
• Check for foreign particles between the needle valve and its seat, if necessary, replace the valve or the gasket;
• Check and, if necessary, replace the float.
